3D printers and lasers differ more by type than by price
Our K1 Max vs Kobra 3 Max Combo page shows it. The Creality K1 Max is enclosed and prints one filament in a 300 mm cube; TechRadar praised its detail. The Anycubic Kobra 3 Max Combo is an open-frame printer with a 420 x 420 x 500 mm build volume and a four-color ACE Pro, and Tom's Hardware's 48-hour multicolor test had 902 filament swaps. For lasers, Tom's Hardware tested both the xTool M2 and the Creality Falcon A1 Pro: both are enclosed 20W diodes, the M2 adds swappable heads including color printing, and the Falcon's $949 Basic Pack includes a honeycomb cutting platform.
Measure your largest part, decide whether you need an enclosure for plastics like ABS, and budget for purge waste if you print multicolor. For lasers, plan how you will vent smoke before you buy.
The 82 deals we track here run from $94 to $3,199, with a middle price of $430. These come from Amazon's current listings, refreshed every 2 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions: 3D Printers & Laser Engravers
Drawn from our sourced comparisons
Do I need an enclosed 3D printer?
It depends on the plastic. TechRadar says the K1 Max's enclosed design gives a controlled environment for a range of materials, while the Kobra 3 Max is an open frame. Our comparison lists the materials each maker supports.
Does multicolor 3D printing waste filament?
Yes. Tom's Hardware's 48-hour test on the Kobra 3 Max Combo had 902 filament swaps. The updated slicer cut waste by about half compared with the original Kobra 3, but color changes still purge material.
Do laser engravers need venting?
Yes. Tom's Hardware vented the xTool M2's hose out a window and said it worked very well, while the Falcon A1 Pro's small optional smoke purifier was overwhelmed when cutting plywood.
